At Model Boat Shed, we understand the importance of producing high-quality fittings correctly scaled down for model boats.

We ensure the quality of our scale model fittings with careful precise detailing. At Model Boat Shed, our fittings are designed to enhance the realism of the model boats they are designed for. As we progress model boat builds, we are producing moulds of our fittings for reproduction purposes.
Accuracy and Compatibility
We ensure scaled down accuracy and compatibility of our fittings with our model boats by referencing line drawings and photos of the original. This guarantees a perfect scale fit for our projects. For multiple fittings of the same pattern, we produce a casting master in the traditional form by hand, and from that produce a silicone rubber mould to cast the fittings in high definition casting resin. We do not use 3D printing methods.

For beginners, we recommend starting with researching and gaining photos of the original, measuring up and take your time in getting the scale right. Accurate, high-quality fittings significantly enhance your model's realism and overall display enjoyment.
